OUR ROLE
Network PR’s specialist food group has a long standing relationship with Wattie’s, providing strategic and tactical communications support across its diverse business. Wattie’s is considered an industry leader in the nutrition arena and Network PR has played a role in developing that position. We are involved in communicating with health professionals, food writers, educators and consumers through a range of initiatives covering areas such as nutrition, infant feeding, fruit and vegetable consumption, baked beans, internal communications, new products and trade initiatives.
SNAPSHOT
The award winning Wattie’s Fruit & Veg Each Day programme showed New Zealanders that canned and frozen fruit and vegetables count. The initiative encouraged people to include more of this valuable food group in their diets. Strategically launched in a phased approach, first to health professionals and then to consumers, the programme achieved great cut through in delivering this key nutrition message. The Wattie’s Fruit & Veg Each Day programme won the 2003 Public Relations Institute of New Zealand ‘Marketing Public Relations Award’.
